Sean Guerin
Sean Guerin is a member of a growing fraternity in Ft. Lauderdale – a hometown native. Sean attended St. Anthony’s Grammar School only a mile or so from where he now lives. With the exception of leaving Ft. Lauderdale to attend Marist School in Atlanta and FSU in Tallahassee, Sean has always called Ft. Lauderdale home.
Shortly after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from FSU, he went to work for the newly formed Florida Marlins. They were heady times as the new team went through its first draft and selection of the original players. Transitioning from Baseball Operations to the Sales & Marketing side, it became difficult to separate baseball from Budweiser and Sean found his skills further refined by working for Anheuser-Busch. The experience gleaned whilst working in this industry was invaluable. Very few organizations take marketing to the level that Budweiser does, from retail to the special promotions.
However, the hours and environment were not completely compatible with Sean’s new bride, Jenny, and an offer to take over marketing for Boston Chicken/Market in their original territory saw Sean’s first relocation from Ft. Lauderdale. It really made those words “you don’t know how much you really love something until it’s gone” ring true.
After opening Boston Market’s 1000th store in downtown Boston, Sean began to plot on how to return to Ft. Lauderdale and still have excellent career opportunities. He studied the success stories of Ft. Lauderdale and found that the vast majorities were entrepreneurs who owned and/or started their own businesses. Those role models put in place the plan that evolved into U.S. Toner, which has evolved into U.S. Imaging Solutions.
From a promise made on top of the World Famous Elbo Room twelve years ago to a business plan formed on a pool table in a garage doubling as a desk, USIS now has over fifty employees and annual sales totaling eight figures. Shadowing their role models, USIS has made significant contributions back to the community in the form of time, money, and product. Sean and USIS have received numerous awards over the last few years, including the Excalibur Award, Diamond CEO Award, Cutting Edge Award Finalist, Konica Newcomer of the Year, and Elite Dealer of the Year.
Sean is on the Board of the Facing It Together Foundation and Gold Coast Magazine. He is involved and has chaired several committees with the United Way, People for Progress, and HANDY. He is a member of the Board of Directors and is an Executive Committee member for the Broward Workshop, and he is currently Chairman of the District Board of Trustees at Broward College. He attributes most of his success and competitive passion to the self-discipline and confidence instilled by years of martial arts training. In addition to Sean’s will to win and a desire to give back to the community, it’s his wife Jenny and their daughters Riley, Shannon, and Delaney that get him out of bed in the morning.
